Chemotherapy can be used to treat non small cell lung cancer in the following conditions;

It is used to control the symptoms and help the people to live longer life.

It is also used before and after radiotherapy treatment to get rid of the cancer.

Chemotherapy before surgery is called neoadjuvant therapy. A review of research trials found that this type of treatment helped many patients with non small cell lung cancer to live longer.
